The event, held on Friday, July 10, combined a dodecathlon with a bowling marathon to support the charity, which aids the blind and visually impaired. Six bowlers started at 6am, enduring the summer heatwave to bowl continuously for 12 hours at the club. Simultaneously, participants at the Cotswold Sports Centre engaged in activities including table tennis, netball, and self-defence. Six marathon bowlers completed 100 ends of bowls, and many others joined in individual dodecathlon activities. The event raised more than £5,000, with the final total to be announced later in the year.
