It had to close the existing driving range outfield due to health and safety concerns. Now it has proposed that in its place, a Golf ‘Pod’ is constructed, which will feature covered practice bays and a short outfield that will be fully netted – including the roof. This restriction was implemented due to safety concerns and reports of errant golf balls threatening neighbouring properties adjacent to the range. To compliment the Golf ‘Pod’ it is also proposed that a new short game practice area is built, while on the site of the old outfield a dedicated junior practice area, irrigation storage pond and rainwater harvesting basin are constructed.
