The Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service received reports of a fire on Rosedale Gardens just before 10am on Friday, July 31. Fire crews were dispatched to the scene from stations in Newbury and Theale, alongside an officer and an aerial ladder platform from Whitley Wood fire station. The firefighters found a fire in a bedroom that had "spread to a loft". The crews, equipped with breathing apparatus, used two hose reels to extinguish the fire before ventilating smoke from the property with a fan. The fire service was on scene for about two hours and 20 minutes.
