Olivia Bailey, Labour MP for Reading West and Mid Berkshire, said she was "deeply saddened" to hear of the teenager's "tragic death" following a crash in the early hours of Wednesday morning (July 29). The MP urged anyone who was driving in the area at the time or who may have dashcam footage or other information about the crash to please contact Thames Valley Police "as soon as possible". Her plea comes after police confirmed a 17-year-old male driver had died at the scene after a crash involving a red Volkswagen Lupo on an unnamed road between Bradfield and the A340 in West Berkshire at around 2.20am on Wednesday, July 29. Officers issued a public appeal for information, asking anyone who was driving "in the area of Bradfield College, the A340 or surrounding roads" around the time the crash happened to please come forward. "Our thoughts are with the young man's family and friends at this difficult time."
