Published by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation, the reports draw on parts from Horizon Europe-funded projects that are already testing circular economy solutions across Europe. The aim is to ensure that the future legislation is practical, effective and capable of supporting Europe’s transition to a more circular economy. Four key areasThe publications focus on four priority themes that are expected to play a significant role in the new Circular Economy Act. One of the biggest challenges is regulatory fragmentation, where different rules across countries make it difficult to scale circular solutions across borders. The findings also emphasise the importance of territorially grounded circular economy policies that reflect regional strengths and local needs.
