COVENTRY Sphinx held off a Yaxley comeback to claim a thrilling 4-3 win in the club’s second league game of the season. Goals from Bleu McNeil, James Ritson, Dylan Parker and Eden Mukenge put Sphinx into a three-goal lead early in the second half at APG Park. However, Yaxley struck twice in the remaining minutes to reduce the deficit to a single goal as Sphinx held on to earn their first league win of the season. Sphinx took the lead on eight minutes when McNeil found the net before Ritson doubled the away side’s advantage on 18 minutes. But Sphinx held firm in the remaining minutes to claim their maiden league win of the 2026/27 season.
