Mid Wales Tourism (MWT Cymru) and the Wales Tourism Alliance (WTA) have voiced their support for a 12-week consultation launched by the Welsh Government to review tax rules for self-catering properties, including the 182-day letting threshold.
Zoë Hawkins, chief executive of MWT Cymru, said: "We welcome this consultation and the speed with which the new Welsh Government has brought it forward.
The rules have been criticised for treating genuine tourism businesses the same as second homes.
Rowland Rees-Evans, chairman of the WTA, urged all self-catering businesses to respond to the consultation.
He said: "We know there are many self-catering businesses struggling because they have been unable to reach the 182-day threshold for a range of reasons.
