Motorbike rider in hospital with serious injuries after A40 crash involving van

The crash involving the two vehicles occurred on the A40 near the Powys-Carmarthenshire border, between Llandovery and Halfway, in the northwestern Bannau Brycheiniog/Brecon Beacons.
The crash closed the road for around 10 hours, and was reopened in the early hours of this morning.
“Dyfed-Powys Police received a report of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A40, Llandovery to Halfway, at approximately 5.50pm on Sunday, August 2,” said the force in a statement.
“One person, the male rider of the motorcycle, was taken to hospital by ambulance with serious injuries.
“The road remained closed whilst emergency services were at scene and to allow for vehicle recovery.
