I didn't walk away from Starsand Island because I couldn't install a custom shirt or invite three friends onto my farm. Starsand Island could give every character another cutscene and still have them return to standing motionless behind a counter once it ends. Starsand Island Version 1.0 will officially launch on August 18, 2026 for PC, Xbox, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2. Stardew Valley doesn't need multiplayer to make Pelican Town feel like a real community, and Starsand Island shouldn't either. On August 18, I might finally find out whether Early Access gave it the time it needed to bring the two together.
