The South West currently boasts the highest total solar capacity in the UK, with 3,901.9 megawatts (MW) installed across homes.
Other regions performing strongly include the South East (2,798.6 MW capacity and 2,301,811 MWh generation), the Eastern (2,965.5 MW and 2,291,519 MWh), and the East Midlands (2,123.1 MW and 1,648,803 MWh).
At the local authority level, Cornwall leads the nation with a generation capacity of 536,496 MWh.
Dorset places fourth with 302,134 MWh, solidifying the South West’s position as the solar powerhouse of the UK.
Other high-performing areas include South Cambridgeshire (257,056 MWh), East Cambridgeshire (239,086 MWh), and Shropshire (227,476 MWh).
