The trial is set to run from August 4 to August 31 and will apply to roads between Sandbanks and Southbourne, with the aim of improving road safety, prevent illegal parking and improve emergency access along the coastline. On its website, BCP Council said: "This trial is about making Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole safer and easier to access for everyone (including all motorists). "We do not want to put people at risk by irresponsible and illegal parking. "Some parking has blocked access for emergency service vehicles and put lives at risk." The trial follows a similar scheme in August 2025, which the council says led to a significant drop in illegal parking and improved traffic flow, while maintaining strong visitor numbers.
