Merley Lane will be temporarily closed to all vehicles from its junction with Rempstone Road to its junction with Oakley Straight. The telecoms maintenance works, carried out by Openreach, are scheduled to take place from August 18 to August 24. An alternative route will be in place via Rempstone Road, Merley Gardens, and Merley Lane and vice versa. The council has confirmed that full emergency services access will be maintained. BCP Council has also confirmed that the restrictions may remain in place for up to 18 months.
