VALLEY CITY, N.D. — Local police are urging residents to double-check their door locks and review home security footage after two masked prowlers targeted vehicles in the southwest part of town early Sunday morning. According to the Valley City Police Department, officers responded to a report of suspicious activity around 2:58 a.m. on August 2 in the 1000 block of Viking Drive SW. Investigators say two individuals wearing dark clothing, face masks, and rubber gloves were seen attempting to open parked vehicles. Authorities believe the suspects may have successfully entered at least one unlocked vehicle near the intersection of 11th Avenue SW and Viking Drive SW. Review camera footage: Residents living along Viking Drive SW, 11th Avenue SW, 9th Avenue SW, and 6th Avenue SW are asked to check their doorbell or security cameras between 2:30 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. on August 2 for any unusual activity.
