California-based startup Revoy is developing a retrofit battery swapping system aimed at cutting diesel consumption drastically in heavy freight trucks. Independent tests by Mesilla Valley Transportation Solutions found diesel savings from 65% to over 90%, depending on terrain. Given Montana’s expansive freight routes and reliance on diesel trucks, such a retrofit could offer significant operational savings, especially with diesel prices up 63% since early 2026.
