Minister of Lands, Chimwemwe Chipungu, has lavished praise on the newly launched Constituency Development Fund (CDF) Dashboard, calling it a “game‑changer” that finally drags constituency development out of the shadows and into public view. Speaking in Parliament, Chipungu said the digital platform — unveiled by Local Government Minister Ben Phiri and his team — marks one of the most significant steps yet in the fight against secrecy and mismanagement in local development spending. In a rare moment of cross‑ministerial applause, he said the dashboard “deserves national recognition” for putting power directly into the hands of citizens. Instead, they will have real‑time access to data on project status, spending patterns and contractor performance. The CDF Dashboard is expected to become a central tool for civil society, journalists and community monitors as government attempts to restore trust in the management of development funds.
