ISLAMABAD – Pakistan intensified diplomatic outreach to Iran as Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar held key phone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, inviting him to visit Islamabad at earliest possible opportunity. According to Foreign Office, the two foreign ministers discussed major regional and international developments, with the worsening situation in Occupied East Jerusalem also coming under discussion. Trump said the decision followed appeals from regional countries and Iran. However, Iranian officials denied that direct negotiations with the US were underway, while Trump accused Tehran of making statements regarding control of the strategic waterway.
