SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has constituted a high-level committee/core group to expedite the establishment of the proposed National Centre of Excellence (NCOE) at Awantipora in south Kashmir, assigning it the responsibility of overseeing all major aspects of the project’s execution. The committee will be chaired by the Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Youth Services & Sports Department. According to the order, the core group will review and facilitate all activities connected with the establishment of the National Centre of Excellence. Its mandate includes processing land transfer proposals, securing statutory approvals and clearances, infrastructure planning, preparation of operational plans (OPNs), ensuring coordination among departments, and resolving issues that may delay implementation of the project. The government said the committee has been constituted to ensure the timely execution of the prestigious sports infrastructure project at Awantipora through coordinated action among all stakeholder departments.
