QUEENS, NY — David Stearns executed another midnight special, as the Mets dealt reliever Huascar Brazoban to the Chicago White Sox in the wee hours of Monday morning — trade deadline day in Major League Baseball — for a pair of prospects.
Not only did Brazoban stick around in the bullpen, but he eventually came in to pitch a scoreless eighth inning of New York’s 2-0 loss.
Veteran southpaw AJ Minter was sent to the Minnesota Twins for a pair of prospects late Thursday night.
Brazoban spent parts of three seasons in New York, proving to be a versatile and invaluable piece of the bullpen.
