Lindsey Perrin, an attendee from Indianapolis, got the idea rolling as a half-joke after seeing videos of the state of Chicago’s Grant Park. A semi-viral Instagram post later, and Lollapalooza 2026’s greatest piece of unofficial programming came to life. According to Bookclub Chicago, a crowd initially gathered in the designated area somewhat hesitant to join the festivities.
