Iraq and Türkiye have signed a one-year interim agreement to maintain operations of the Iraq-Türkiye crude oil pipeline. The deal secures the continued flow of Iraqi crude through the nation's sole functioning export pipeline while both governments negotiate a comprehensive energy framework. Turkish Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar said the agreement secures a daily transit capacity of 750,000 barrels. Iraqi and Turkish officials described the one-year arrangement as an essential bridge toward a broader framework covering long-term energy cooperation. While those discussions did not yield a permanent replacement deal prior to the original contract's expiry, both leaders reaffirmed their mutual commitment to expanding bilateral energy trade and infrastructure ties.
