AboitizPower breaks ground on 239-MWp Negros solar project

ABOITIZ POWER CORP. (AboitizPower) has broken ground on a 239-megawatt-peak (MWp) solar power project with a 65-megawatt (MW) battery energy storage system in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, which it targets to energize by 2028.
Once operational, the project will increase Aboitiz Renewables’ solar capacity in Negros Occidental to 471 MWp.
“Our solar journey began here in Negros Occidental with SacaSun, our very first solar plant in San Carlos City.
With the Luna project, Aboitiz Renewables’ portfolio will comprise 45 renewable energy facilities across the Philippines, including solar, hydroelectric, geothermal, and energy storage assets.
For 2026, AboitizPower has earmarked P62 billion in capital expenditures, primarily for renewable energy and battery energy storage system projects.
