Agartala, August 3: Marking another milestone in Tripura’s rural development journey, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Monday inaugurated the newly constructed Betchara Rural Market under the Kumarghat subdivision of Unakoti district.
Inaugurating the facility, the minister said the new rural market would provide a modern and organized platform where farmers, traders and consumers could engage in fair and transparent trade.
Nath said that investments in rural markets are not merely infrastructure projects but long-term initiatives aimed at improving the rural economy.
He added that the Betchara Rural Market would also generate opportunities for small traders, local entrepreneurs and self-help groups, thereby contributing to employment generation and local economic growth.
The inauguration of the Betchara Rural Market is expected to further reinforce the state’s vision of inclusive rural development, improved agricultural marketing and sustainable economic growth across Tripura.
