The proposal would also authorize lesser sanctions, including formal reprimands and public censure, for council members who repeatedly violate city rules or standards of conduct. According to the staff report, the ordinance originated after council members requested clearer procedures during discussions earlier this year regarding attendance and disciplinary processes.
