The Kenya Revenue Authority(KRA) is inviting women in business, chamas, self-help groups and fellowships to sign up for free tax education sessions being rolled out nationwide. “We are inviting women in business, chamas, self-help groups, fellowships and other women networks to register for free Tax Education Sessions,” KRA stated. The program is part of the broader outreach initiative dubbed Empowering Women Through Tax Education, which KRA has flagged as one of its key focus areas this year. Beyond the training, the authority reminded chama members that their groups carry real tax responsibilities once money starts changing hands. With this in mind, every chama needs its own group KRA PIN, separate from the individual PINs already held by its members, obtained using officials' details, the group constitution, and registration minutes.
