The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced partial closure of Mombasa Road (A8) at the Highway Educational Complex section near Bellevue. The closure is to allow According to KeNHA, the closure is necessary to allow the construction of a box culvert along that stretch of road. A box culvert is needed at that section of Mombasa Road to resolve severe stormwater flooding, prevent road structure erosion, and accommodate a natural drainage channel that intersects the highway. Historically, this specific low-lying corridor of Mombasa Road has been heavily prone to flash floods during intense rain seasons, occasionally paralyzing the entire city's transit network. Lang'ata Road, the Southern Bypass, Enterprise Road, Likoni Road and Lusaka Road are among the arteries expected to bear the brunt of diverted vehicles.
