Most of us know James Ellis Ford as the producer of some of the most important UK albums of the past 20 years or so. But when his own life circumstances become extreme enough, like his current battle with acute myeloid leukemia, Ford might make an album of his own. Later this month, Ford will release his second solo LP Lost In Another World. He recorded it entirely by himself in a hospital bed last year, while going through chemotherapy treatments. Ford's roots in dance music go deep — he was one half of Simian Mobile Disco — and the song works as an inspiring work of optimism in the face a situation that gives most of us nightmares to even contemplate.
