Organised crime gangs have had their bulging wallets picked after detectives seized almost £30 million in dirty money and criminal assets.
Police Scotland hit crime kingpins where it hurts most by seizing £29.8 million in cash, luxury goods and assets bankrolled by organised crime over the past year.
Data shows between January and March, a total of 148 restraint orders were submitted to the Proceeds of Crime Unit, freezing assets worth £8,308,409.
The figures underline the growing focus on attacking organised crime by targeting not just those behind criminal networks but the fortunes that fuel them.
