A community oasis still flourishes at the Jane Addams Hull-House Museum, despite the surrounding concrete jungle. The landmark building preserves portions of Addams’s original settlement house and continues its legacy through the resilient exhibition “Perennial City: Experiments in Urban Gardening.” Between the museum’s two stories, “Perennial City” uses archival material and contemporary art to unify the built and natural environment. “Perennial City” inspires a frameshift that rekindles a connection to nature, which, through the work of activists, continues to claim a space for life among the concrete cracks. “Perennial City: Experiments in Urban Gardening”Through 12/18: Tue–Fri 10 AM–4:50 PM, Sat 10 AM–3PM, Jane Addams Hull-House Museum, 800 S.
