Non-for-profit regulator for farmers and workers Fairtrade is set to increase its minimum coffee prices, aiming to strengthen price security amid rising production costs and climate-change pressures. From 1 December 2026, the new Fairtrade Minimum Price for washed Arabica beans will be US$2.00 per pound, which is an increase of 11 per cent. Natural Arabica and washed Robusta Fairtrade Minimum Prices will also increase by 20 cents and 10 cents, respectively. The Fairtrade Minimum Price is a “global floor price” that aims to be a safety net to protect farmers from drastic price drops during market volatility. According to Fairtrade, the industry has not seen coffee prices fall below $2.00 per pound since March 2024.
