PAINTING OF JIMOTHY THE RACCOON RAISES BIG BUCKS FOR CHARITYPAINTING OF JIMOTHY THE RACCOON RAISES BIG BUCKS FOR CHARITYIn Seattle, a wild raccoon named Jimothy has captured hearts both locally and online. Born with a shortened spine, Jimothy has become an internet sensation thanks to videos highlighting his distinctive appearance. His viral fame has even inspired fan-created video game characters and special Google animations. Seeing the buzz, local artist Ryan Henry Ward painted a portrait of Jimothy — and auctioned it off for charity. The painting of Jimothy — thanks to Angela’s winning bid, the corporate money that followed, as well as a wave of individual community gifts — ended up raising over $58,000 for the Ballard Food Bank, helping provide groceries, hot meals, and utility assistance to thousands of local families.
