A look back at a warm and very wet July

ABC 6 News – kaaltv.com
Rainfall totals for July are shown below, and range incredibly from 13.20″ of rain for Grand Meadow, to only 1.41″ for Forest City.
These totals certainly have an imprint on the current drought monitor map, with Forest City & vicinity under some of the driest conditions locally.
Yet somehow, we are still “below” average in terms of yearly precipitation across most of the area, especially closer to I-35 in North Iowa.
Rochester came out 3.1 degrees above the average high temperature for the month, with the average low also a few degrees higher than average, indicating a trend of warm days & nights.
Dew points were commonly in the 70F’s through much of the month, with low-80F dew points even recorded at times, especially July 27.
