ReportISLAMABAD: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) Monday handed Mushtaq Ahmed and co-accused Daniyal over to Islamabad police on a three-day physical remand to facilitate further investigation into the case related to a protest in Islamabad. The FIR stated that protesters allegedly vandalised a media vehicle, damaged government property, and pelted stones at police personnel, leaving several officers injured during the clashes. The case has been registered against Mushtaq Ahmed, Akhunzada Hussain Yousafzai, and other unidentified individuals under anti-terrorism laws, along with relevant provisions of the Peaceful Assembly and Public Order Act. During the ATC hearing, the prosecution sought a 30-day physical remand, arguing that investigators needed custody of the accused to recover a vehicle and weapons allegedly linked to the incident. After hearing arguments from both sides, Duty Judge Rukhshanda Shaheen granted a three-day physical remand, allowing police to continue their investigation.
