The Mariners are reportedly acquiring outfielder Taylor Ward from the Orioles. It’s 40-man neutral for both clubs, as Ward and Hoppe have roster spots but Moore and Kreiling do not. The fact that Ward is a righty is also notable, since the lineup otherwise leans to the other side. For the O’s, they seem to feel these three arms were the best they could do in parting with Ward. Jeff Passan of ESPN first reported that Ward was headed to the Mariners.
