PROVIDENCE, N.Y. (WNYT)- A Providence man faces rape charges after a Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office investigation into a reported sexual assault at a town residence. Mullarkey, 20, of Providence was arrested Sunday, August 2 after investigators looked into a sexual assault complaint that allegedly happened at a residence in the town of Providence in July, according to sheriff’s deputies. Mullarkey was charged with two counts of second-degree rape, and endangering the welfare of a child. Sheriff’s deputies said Mullarkey is accused of engaging in sexual intercourse with another person less than 15 years old while he was 18 years old or more. He was arraigned in Stillwater Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail pending proceedings in Providence Town Court.
