Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council approved Sovereign Hill Partnership's (SHP) plans for older persons’ accommodation at Saxon Court on July 29, paving the way for the vacant former head office to be demolished and replaced with one- and two-bedroom affordable homes. SHP is an equal partnership between Sovereign Network Group (SNG) and The Hill Group to regenerate urban brownfield sites across England. "With shops, healthcare, and community facilities just a short walk away, and green spaces close by, it’s an ideal setting for later living. "The design has been shaped with care to fit the character of the neighbourhood, while offering modern, sustainable homes with features such as private balconies, communal gardens, and shared spaces that support both wellbeing and community life." A legal agreement forms part of the approved plans, and development must start within three years of permission being granted.
