A new season brought a new look for CPD Y Rhyl 1879, with the club unveiling both its new home and away shirts before the game, supplied by Queensferry Sports, the shirts featuring a Prostate Cancer charity sleeve design. On the pitch, Rhyl made a lively start to the new campaign, with both sides playing at a high tempo. Rhyl suffered an early setback on 23 minutes when Ryan Austin's debut was cut short through injury. A well-taken corner by Ben Lightfoot found Fairhurst, who rose highest to head home and give Rhyl a deserved lead. The second half saw Rhyl continue to create opportunities.
