The fire broke out at Dunwich Heath around 5.30pm on July 29 and has since required a major response from emergency services as they continue to tackle the wildfire. Minsmere Road and the Westleton Road junction remain fully closed, with partial closures affecting sections of Dunwich Road, Walk Barn Farm Lane, Mill Road, and Hard Piece Lane towards Dunwich. The fire service has urged the public to avoid the area while crews remain on site, with the operation expected to continue into next week. A firefighting helicopter was also been brought in to tackle areas inaccessible from the ground. The fire service said: "Looking ahead, we are also monitoring forecast weather conditions, with much hotter temperatures expected on Tuesday."
