Hundreds of people were in the dark Sunday night after storms knocked onto utility lines in Wake County. Just after 12:30 a.m., the WRAL Breaking News Tracker found several large limbs stretched across the roadway with electrical lines underneath near Graham Newton Road and Whitehart Lane. Other WRAL Top StoriesAt least one vehicle was reported trapped between the fallen wires but they were safely removed, emergency communications said. More than 1,200 customers lost power in the area due to the incident, according to Duke Energy. The intersection remained closed as crews worked to clear the road.
