Hundreds of supporters gathered in Carlow last night to welcome home the county’s Junior Ladies football team. ADVERTISEMENTCarlow’s All-Ireland dream ended with a one-point defeat to Antrim, but the team had a great season winning the National League and Leinster titles. Carlow County Council Cathaoirleach Tommy Kinsella says the county is immensely proud of the squad and believes they’ll be back competing for All-Ireland honours. There was a very good crowd there at the homecoming last night, and I think the future looks bright. Great thanks to the girls and everyone involved for putting up such a wonderful performance and putting Carlow on the map in their first All-Ireland.”
