Beyond the rooftop solar sector, the regulator continues to focus on improving audit quality under the Australian Carbon Credit Unit Scheme. The Clean Energy Regulator states that independent audits play a critical role in ensuring participants correctly apply approved methods and accurately report net carbon abatement. The Clean Energy Regulator confirmed the Emissions and Energy Reporting System is now open and warned that organisations failing to meet reporting deadlines may have their details publicly disclosed.
