['Michael Harradence']
News – PlayStation Universe
Naoki Hamaguchi, game director on Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, has admitted that the amount of side content packed into the game’s open-world tired players out a bit, noting some stepped away from the game as a result.
Hamaguchi recently addressed the topic of side quests during an interview with Game Informer, where he said that players can expect plenty of side quests for the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Revelation.
However, he noted that the development team have been mindful of feedback from FFVII Rebirth players in this respect.
Meanwhile, the game director told GamesRadar that he is hoping for a physical release of Final Fantasy VII Revelation, but noted that discussions are still ongoing regarding the SKU product lineup.
Final Fantasy Revelation is scheduled for release on PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S in Spring 2027.
