Fife pensioner conned out of £33,000 in cruel scam

A pensioner in Cupar was conned out of £33,000 by telephone scammers targeting those living in Fife.
The pensioner, a 73-year-old woman, lost thousands after she was phoned by someone claiming to be from the bank or telephone company.
The fraudsters later turned up at the woman’s home, took her bank cards and used them to make online purchases.
Second Fife pensioner loses £1,000In a separate incident, a 94-year-old woman from East Wemyss lost £1,000.
“Do not be afraid to take details and there is nothing wrong with declining their requests and ending the call.”
