Ryde Revival, a community interest company (CIC), said it was "disappointed" after Ryde Neighbourhood Board (RNB) decided not to pursue buying the building. Ryde Revival would have owned the freehold, with an 'asset lock' ensuring the building would pass to Ryde Town Council if needed. Ryde Revival presented RNB with a business case and hoped it would win funding. In a statement to the County Press, Ryde Revival, formed of Ryde residents Helen Keogan, James Longford and Mark Walker, said the Pride in Place funding is intended to support "exactly this type of project". The group said public consultations had repeatedly named the Town Hall as one of the buildings Ryde residents would most like to save.
