Replying to a question in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale said that 46,642 development works have already been completed under the programme, benefiting 47,59,399 people.
The Adarsh Gram component focuses on achieving saturation across 50 measurable socio-economic indicators spanning 10 key sectors, including education, health, sanitation, infrastructure, livelihoods and social welfare.
Of these, 46,642 projects have been completed so far, reflecting steady progress in improving rural infrastructure and access to essential services.
Athawale informed the House that States and Union Territories have been directed to verify the self-declaration of Adarsh Gram villages to strengthen accountability and ensure that development targets are effectively achieved.
The PM-AJAY Adarsh Gram initiative continues to promote inclusive rural development by improving infrastructure, expanding access to essential services and empowering Scheduled Caste communities through coordinated implementation across the country.
