ISLAMABAD – What began with PTCL’s acquisition of Telenor Pakistan could now lead to one of Pakistan’s biggest fintech deals. As per reports, PTCL is moving to acquire Easypaisa, the country’s largest digital financial services platform to reshape Pakistan’s telecom and fintech landscape. If the acquisition goes ahead, Easypaisa would once again become part of the PTCL Group after the telecom giant’s takeover of Telenor Pakistan. In December 2023, PTCL signed agreement to acquire Telenor Pakistan and Orion Towers in deal worth nearly Rs108 billion. PTCL began combining Telenor Pakistan’s operations with its mobile subsidiary, Ufone, bringing together network infrastructure, spectrum assets and millions of subscribers.
