New 'Aladdin's cave' gift shop brings handmade treasures to Northumberland town

Beyond the Byre, self-described as an "eclectic mix of artisan makers", opened at 6 Battle Hill on July 21 - taking over the space formerly occupied by the Green Bee.
The key artery of the shop's stock is the pair's handmade jewellery, crafted mainly from copper, enamel, silver and mixed metals.
"There's a really nice movement of independent shops growing in Hexham," said Carolyn.
"The business network here has a very positive, driven vibe that any local new business can jump in, with all the independents seeming to really work and pull together.
From the middle of August, the shop will also host workshops in ceramics, linoprint, and watercolours.
