Emergency services were called to the B1281 Hesleden Road near Blackhall Colliery just before 7.15pm on Sunday (August 2) following a serious two-car crash. Three passengers, two boys aged 17 and a 17-year-old girl, were taken to hospital as a precaution and have since been discharged. The road was closed between Hesleden and Yohden Hall Nursing Home following the crash, with the air ambulance seen landing nearby. A spokesperson for North East Ambulance Service said: "We were called just before 7.15pm today (Sunday, August 2) to reports of a car overturned on the B1281 Hesleden Road near Blackhall Colliery. "We dispatched three ambulance crews, the air ambulance, a rapid response paramedic, a clinical team leader and an advanced paramedic.
