Investigations will take place in Cambridge Road, where flooding regularly occurs during periods of heavy rain, most notably in September 2024 when the route became impassable and vehicles were left stranded in the water. Mr Strathern said: "Given the need to close the road to undertake these investigations, we've requested these be undertaken at times which will minimise disruption. "As a result there will now be overnight works and closures between 10 and 15 August. "I know this has been a longstanding source of frustration during increasingly regular periods of heavy rain."
