The Black Satellites brought their 2026 WAFU B U-20 Championship campaign to a close after a hard-fought 0-0 draw with Togo in their final Group B fixture at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium in Yamoussoukro, Côte d'Ivoire, on Sunday.
In a match Ghana needed to win to keep their hopes of reaching the semi-finals alive, the Black Satellites produced one of their most assured performances of the tournament.
The result leaves Ghana third in Group B with two points from three matches, following defeats to Nigeria, a spirited draw against Burkina Faso and Sunday's stalemate against Togo.
Although the Black Satellites were unable to progress beyond the group stage, the tournament offered several encouraging signs.
With Ghana already assured of a place at the 2027 TotalEnergies CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations as hosts, the WAFU B U-20 Championship has served as an important building block in the team's long-term development.
