Kolkata: Chandra Kumar Bose, the grandnephew of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, on Monday resigned from the Trinamool Congress (TMC) just under four months after coming on board Mamata Banerjee-helmed party. ADVERTISEMENTWhile joining the TMC, Chandra said his earlier decision to be with the BJP was a “mistake”. Chandra resigned from his earlier stint with the BJP in 2023, alleging that the saffron party failed to fulfil its promise of promoting Netaji’s inclusive nationalist ideology. Having joined the BJP in 2016, Chandra contested the West Bengal Assembly polls that year and 2019 Lok Sabha elections on the party’s ticket. He was appointed vice-president of West Bengal BJP in 2016, only to be stripped of the post during the party’s 2020 organisational reshuffle.
